Owlbear Rodeo Integration

What is Owlbear Rodeo?
Owlbear Rodeo is a free, browser-based virtual tabletop (VTT) for running TTRPG sessions online. It provides a shared map canvas where the GM can place tokens, draw rooms, add lighting, and run encounters — while players see the same view in real time.
The CampAi extension plugs into Owlbear's sidebar panel, giving the GM access to chapter summaries, NPC stats and portraits, and giving players their character sheet and dice roller — all without leaving the VTT.
Installing the CampAi Extension
Open your CampAi game page
Navigate to Games → [Your Game]. This is the game you want to connect to your Owlbear room.
Copy the Owlbear Extension Link
Click the Copy Owlbear Extension Link button in the game actions. This copies the extension manifest URL to your clipboard.
Open Owlbear Rodeo
Go to owlbear.app and open your room. From the left toolbar, click the Extensions icon (puzzle piece).
Add the Extension
Click Add Extension, paste the manifest URL you copied, and confirm. The CampAi panel will appear in the sidebar immediately.
◈ Tip
GM View
When you open the CampAi panel as the game owner, you'll see:
- Active chapter title and narrative summary
- NPC roster for the active chapter — portraits, archetype, and full stat blocks
- Chapter scene art and location maps
- Token HP/MP overlays on the map canvas for all characters and NPCs
◈ Tip
Player View
Players who open the CampAi panel see their assigned character sheet: characteristics, derived stats, skills, and equipment. They can also:
- Roll dice directly from the extension — results are logged in the Game Log visible to the GM
- See the current chapter title and any public-facing chapter summary
- View their portrait and character bio
Linking Your Owlbear Account
For the extension to know which character belongs to which player, each player needs to link their Owlbear identity to their CampAi account:
GM assigns a character first
On the game page, use the character dropdown next to the player's name to assign them a campaign character.
Player opens the CampAi panel in OBR
The player clicks the CampAi extension icon in their Owlbear sidebar.
Player clicks Link Account
A prompt appears in the panel. Clicking it opens a brief OAuth flow that ties their Owlbear player ID to their CampAi login — then their character sheet appears automatically.
