Generating Campaigns

← Guide

Write a brief, then let the AI build your world — chapters, NPCs, stat blocks, portraits, and maps.

Creating a Campaign

Go to Campaigns → New Campaign. You'll get a rich-text editor where you describe your world. The more detail you provide, the better the AI output.

SettingWhere and when the story takes place — world name, era, geography, tone.
Central ConflictThe main threat or mystery driving the campaign.
Player CharactersBrief descriptions of the PCs — class, background, motivations.
Game SystemOptionally select a game system (BRP, Hero 6e, etc.) — affects NPC stat blocks and character sheets.
NotesAny extra lore, factions, or GM notes.

◈ Tip

Be specific about tone — "gritty low-magic western" generates very different content than "high fantasy epic with dragons". Include the names of major factions or locations for more grounded output.

The AI Generation Pipeline

After creating a campaign, open its detail page. You'll find generation buttons that build out your content in stages. Run them in order for best results.

1

Generate Chapters

Creates a set of chapter outlines — titles and brief synopses — from your campaign description. Choose how many chapters you want (3–6 is typical).

2

Expand Chapters

Each chapter outline is expanded into a full narrative: scenes, pacing notes, and dramatic beats. You can expand all chapters at once or one at a time.

3

Generate NPCs

Populates each chapter with named NPCs — allies, enemies, and neutrals — derived from the chapter narrative.

4

Generate NPC Stats

Fills in game-system stat blocks for every NPC (characteristics, skills, combat stats). Requires a game system to be selected on the campaign.

5

Generate Images

AI-generated art for: character portraits, NPC portraits, chapter scene art, and location maps. Each can be generated individually or all at once.

◈ Tip

You don't need to run the full pipeline in one session. Each step is independent — come back later and pick up where you left off.

Regenerating Content

Every chapter and NPC has individual regeneration buttons. If you don't like the output for a specific chapter narrative or NPC stat block, regenerate just that piece — you don't need to re-run the entire pipeline. Cover images can also be regenerated from the campaign detail page.

◈ Tip

Edit the chapter narrative text directly before regenerating NPCs — the NPC generator reads the latest chapter text, so refining it first yields more relevant characters.

Printable View

Click the Printable button on the campaign detail page to open a print-optimised layout of the full campaign — chapters, NPCs, and stat blocks. Use your browser's File → Print (or Ctrl/Cmd+P) and choose "Save as PDF" to export a campaign document.

◈ Tip

In the print dialog, enable Background graphics to preserve the dark styling in the PDF output.
